Apple Mac Studio M3 Ultra and M4 Max

Get Quote

recently we’ve expanded our hire fleet to include the latest Apple Mac Studio models — the Mac Studio with M3 Ultra and the Mac Studio with M4 Max. These are serious machines, designed for teams who need workstation‑class performance in a compact, reliable desktop.

We still have our cost‑effective M1 and M2 Mac Studios available too, which remain great options for lighter workloads.

Mac Studio – M3 Ultra

The M3 Ultra is the one you choose when you don’t want to compromise. It’s effectively two M3 Max chips fused together, giving you up to a 32‑core CPU (24 performance cores, 8 efficiency cores), 80‑core GPU, and a 32‑core Neural Engine, with up to 512GB of unified memory and 819GB/s memory bandwidth.

In practical terms, that means it’s built for multi‑stream 8K editing, heavy 3D rendering, complex VFX, large machine‑learning workloads, and demanding virtual production pipelines. If your project involves big timelines, big datasets, or lots of simultaneous outputs, the M3 Ultra is the “no‑drama” option—it just gets on with the work.

Mac Studio – M4 Max

The M4 Max is newer, extremely fast, and very efficient—perfect for high‑end creative and production work where you need serious performance but don’t quite need Ultra‑level horsepower. It offers up to a 16‑core CPU, 40‑core GPU, and up to 128GB unified memory, with excellent media engines and display support for multi‑monitor setups.

For on‑site editing suites, production offices, motion graphics, broadcast support, and advanced creative workflows, the M4 Max is more than enough—and often the sweet spot between power and cost.

Software & workflows

Both models run the latest macOS and are optimised for Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Creative Cloud, Avid, Unreal Engine, and other professional tools. The choice between M3 Ultra and M4 Max really comes down to how heavy your workload is, how many streams/displays you’re driving, and how much headroom you want.

Our team is happy to talk through your project, your software stack, and your budget, then recommend the right Mac Studio configuration for your event or production.

If you’d prefer a Windows‑based solution for GPU‑heavy work, we also offer powerful workstations with high‑end graphics cards. And if you want something a little lighter but still in the Apple ecosystem, we can supply MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and Mac Mini units as well.

Tell us what you’re trying to achieve, and we’ll match you with the right kit.
